The second week we slept on a lot of night trains between cities in the desert state of Rajasthan. When travelling in India it is easy to feel overwhelmed by the history of human culture. The Indus Valley Civilization had its peak some 4500 years ago. Rajasthan includes what has been a number of Rajput and Jat kingdoms, and also a Muslim one. This is not the Old World, but the Ancient World.
